Offers

Currently there are no Sepial special offers, but all year round I give away free postcards. I have had a lot of them made from photographs of mine and you can have a pack of thirty of them for free. There are six designs, all printed in full colour (even the black-and-white ones) onto good quality card, and sealed against smudging. Here are the images in the set (click on each image to enlarge it), but the matt-finish litho-prints look even better:

[Do allow time for all of the small images on this page to load before you click on any one to enlarge it. If an image appears "blocky" then download it to your computer to view it or use a bigger browser window or computer screen. Once enlarged, just click on each enlargement to dismiss it.]

All but one of the designs can be used for your own messages; the black-and-white picture of the happy couple outside the church is a request-for-information for my services. If you’d like some sets of the cards gratis then all you have to do is tell some wedding-planning friends of yours—or any other people you know who’ll be in need of an event photographer—about me and put a card with my contact details into their hands.

Just email me and I’ll send you a free pack of thirty.

About

Damian Counsell taken by Klair Bird at Spectrum Photographic

My name is Damian Counsell. I run Sepial, previously based in Cambridge and now moved to Brighton & Hove.

Unlike most professional photographers today, I use real film. I believe that, in good hands, film photography makes more beautiful pictures than digital photography. Fortunately for me, most digital photographers don’t have good hands.

Compare my photos on this site with my competitors’. I don’t manipulate my images, either in the darkroom or with tools like Photoshop—except to crop, rotate, or resize them for the Web. My images have appeared in magazines and newspapers in the UK, the States, and the Middle East.

It’s a pleasure to read and hear people’s enthusiastic responses when they see the results of my work, but it’s also particularly satisfying when clients and guests compare the way I go about my business favourably with their experiences of other photographers they’ve encountered. The last thing you need at a stressful occasion like a wedding is a bossy, rude, or creepy person annoying your nearest and dearest.

I don’t just do weddings and events. If you are, for example, an actor and would like a distinctive promotional portrait or run a business and would like pictures of your staff, workplace, or venue I guarantee an excellent result or you won’t have to pay me a penny. Lots of people ask me about food photography, but that is outside my experience; I am not a studio photographer and I wouldn’t know where to start with shooting a raspberry coulis—or even a kebab.

Contact me if you are interested in my photographing you and your family or friends or colleagues or business. I won’t give you a hard sell and you might find that the price of real photography more reasonable than you were expecting.
